Outlined on each card are data concerning the origin of the bill (state or federal legislature), House or Senate number, by whom the bill or amendment was introduced, summary of the bill, and a legislative history of the bill. The arrangement of the bills is by subject, as follows: old age pensions (1936-1939); old age assistance (1943); health insurance (1935-1939); unemployment insurance (1935-1939); public assistance (1942); and unemployment compensation (1943). Also, a card file bibliography containing citations for works dealing with health, unemployment insurance, social insurance, hours of labor, accident insurance, pensions (1935), relief for unemployment, workers' compensation, cost of living, family and mothers' allowances, health insurance, pensions, and public employees' retirement plans. Include a file of histories of social legislation and a bibliography.
